This sounds made-up, but it’s not. Here is a bride, on her wedding day, playing what appears to be an 1980’s-era Peavey T-series bass guitar.
They do things different in Iowa, I guess.
Not that we’re complaining. 🙂

I did also, and I was the band leader. 🙂
More big bands at wedding, more bride bass players.
is it de-fretted?
is the old peavy it de-fretted? And what’s up with the doublebass in the background?
Those old Peaveys weigh a ton and she’s handling it like it was a little old scrap of home center 2 x 4. I’ll bet she’s no stranger to hard work. With my spine and rotator cuffs, I’d be in a heap on the floor and hollering for a doctor if I tried to shoulder that thing.
The Bass is a solid ash Peavey T-40, the blade humbuckers were great PUPS & yes someone did pull the frets didn’t they 🙂
They made fretless T40s. I owned one for a short time, till my back decided it wanted something WAY lighter.
Like. 🙂
Looks defretted, when the camera zooms in at 1:38, the slots are a little rough-edged.
I’d guess that she was goaded into sitting-in with the band by friends and family, with no rehearsal since she seems to be reading. That guy standing by the double-bass acting like a secret service agent may be their regular bassist.
Indeed, those Peavey basses DID weigh a ton! Good for her for playing whatever she wants!
