Pat Beasley of Dolmen Custom Guitars put together a 24-fret 5-string beauty.
Pat writes:
The body core is walnut with a burr elm top. The neck is laminated walnut and maple with carbon fibre bars. Headstock is faced with burr elm on the front and back. The fretboard is snakewood. Pickups are Delanos with a Delano Sonar preamp. All hardware is Schaller. The finish on the bass is polyurethane high gloss. The bass plays and sounds amazing.
Well done, Pat!

how did you get the finish that smooth? I tried polyurethane on mine and it wasn’t even close to that.
I sprayed it on, 3 to 4 coats at a time. Leave to dry for a few days, sand flat with 800 grit wet and dry paper, apply 3 to 4 more coats and repeat process until there are about 12 to 16 coats on it. Leave to dry for 4 weeks, wet sand with micro mesh papers and buff to a high shine with polishing compounds.
What a beauty! Too bad I’m not rich instead of just good looking 😉
Looks fantastic the workmanship here is 2nd to none
Well done Pat that’s a piece of class craftsmanship
Class piece of craftsmanship here. Congrats Pat.
Is the back of the neck also finished in polyurethane?
Yes it is.
Wow, that is class piece of work
what is the back of the neck finished with?
Polyurethene
It’s a little like a Jerzy Drozd bass?
Just wet myself, it is that hot of a bass guitar!
Pity about the lacquer, but she’s a beauty!
