We get a ton of awesome comments from the our Bass of the Week selections. It’s always great to see what gets submitted, and what you guys think about the BotW.
But as it’s gotten bigger and bigger we’ve been getting some emails wondering about BotW, or if and how you can submit your bass for BotW. So we decided to put together a quick little guide for anyone looking to get in on the action and submit their own bass.
First off, can you submit your bass? Well, yes, of course you can!
We think sometimes people are a little too intimidated to submit their awesome bass because it isn’t a custom build that they fashioned out of a piece of wood from a tree split by a bolt of lightning.
Don’t get us wrong, we love those incredible luthier made-from-scratch custom bass builds, they are awesome. But we also think it’s awesome when someone takes their stock bass to a whole new level by installing some great new gear in it.
So how do you submit? The best and easiest way to submit your bass is to head on over to our Facebook page and post some pictures of your bass. Super easy, right? But if you don’t have a Facebook you can still send in a submission by emailing me at justin@bestbassgear.com
What do you need to submit? Well, a picture of your bass for starters. And while you don’t have to take it down to the mall to get a glamour shot, a decent picture that lets us really see the bass will certainly help out your chances. And the more pictures the better. You only need to send in one, but if you’ve got a few different angles or maybe a close-up, send them along as well.
Besides the pictures, tell us a little about the bass. We don’t need it’s entire life story, but a quick anecdote is always good. Did you find it at a pawn shop, or install a new preamp or set of pickups on it? Did your dad give it to you, or has it been your regular weekend gigging bass for the last 7 years?
And let us know what your bass is sporting. Does it have a Leo Quan BadAss III Bridge, or a Michael Pope FlexCore preamp? We want to know! Pickups, preamps, bridges … the more specs the better.
Besides that, include whatever you think we should know about it. If you’ve got a video of you playing it, awesome, sent it along! If you are a custom builder and you’ve got a website, send us a link to your site. We’re sure everyone will want to check out the rest of your work.
So that’s it. See, it’s not that hard. So what are you waiting for? Head on over to our Facebook page and submit your bass.
Or check all of the great basses that we have previously picked for BotW.
