Staind bassist Johnny April buys towns new ambulance

A $150,000 gift from Staind bassist Johnny April made it possible for Highland ambulance to replace their 14-year old model.

“Highland Ambulance director Michael Rock says the gift was a “godsend.” Rock tells The Recorder of Greenfield the old ambulance was nearing the end its useful life and the company would have been hard pressed affording a new one.”

The ambulance will service six rural Massachsett towns – including Goshen, which April calls home – and respond to approximately 550 calls a year.

Good on Johnny April for stepping up and helping out his community. In return we refuse to do any cheap “It’s Been Awhile since they’ve had a new ambulance” jokes.

Staind is currently on the road with Godsmack and Halestorm as part of the MassChoas 2012 tour.
