The Sadowsky Outboard Bass Preamp/DI Pedal contains the same famous circuitry built into every Sadowsky bass. Housed in a small footpedal box for use on the floor, it measures just 4.5" x 4.5" x 2.25" and weighs 1.5 pounds. Just plug your bass into the box and then go from the box to your amp, and/or direct to the board. Controls consist of volume, treble boost and bass boost. The Preamp/DI Pedal is perfect for vintage basses where installation of an onboard preamp would affect the instrument's original condition and resale value. The Preamp/DI pedal is recommended for all passive basses, basses with active pickups, and instruments that have active electronics that can be bypassed. It also works great with all upright bass pickups. I purchase the Sadowsky DI Pedal to use when I play my Fender American Pro Jazz V at gigs using IEM's. I want a bit more EQ capability than a passive tone control. The pedal worked out great! It sounds great with the new Fender Pro Jazz pickups and still retains the overall great tone of the bass. I've been wanting to try out a Sadowsky preamp in a fender bass and since I didn't want to modify my new Fender (and really like the passive tone of the bass with my amps) the out-board pre-amp was a perfect fit.

Nice, compact little box. Built like a tank. Works exactly as described. Great sound, especially for when you want the bass to stand out.

all my guitars,It rounds out all the Ruff edges with that mellow Sadowsky sound. The only draw back I see is the battery box only hold narrow
9 volts other than that it Rocks!
It's really great preamp! No much controls, but it simply works. My MIM Jazz Bass sounds deeper, jucier with Sadowsky preamp. Slap is amazing :)

I only can complain on feeling weak pots, but as I know, they are not placed on case -- solderd directly on the PCB.
