Prewiring:
The prewiring fee includes wiring the potentiometers, switches (black is standard, chrome available upon request), battery connectors and jack for whatever configuration you have chosen from the above options.
There are a couple connections that you will still have to make - since your bass isn't on our bench! You will need to wire the pickups to the preamp, grounding wire from the bridge and possibly the jack if it is not the common style jack that is included.
Prewiring is done every couple of days. Typical wait is just 48-72 hours before leaving our shop.
Use with active pickups:
The preamp can be used with active pickups, such as EMG®, Warwick® MEC and others. Contact us before purchasing to make sure that compatible potentiometers are used with these pickups.
Aguilar OBP-2 Bass Preamp Description
The OBP-2 was designed to give bassists fat tone while being small enought fit into tight control cavities. Wire this preamp with one 9 volt battery and it will fit into just about any instrument. With +/-18dB of boost and cut at 40Hz and +/- 16dB of treble boost and cut at 6.5 kHz you have can emphasize just the right frequencies to make your bass sound great in any mix.
The Aguilar OBP2 is compatible with most major manufacturer¹s pickups, and its
small size makes it an easy retrofit in almost any bass. Combining high headroom
and low noise, the OBP-2 is unmatched in providing tonal flexibility while retaining
the true character of any bass!
