The Thomastik Powerbass strings are the best, they are on all five basses. This reviewer's playing time is spread out among those five so it is a bit hard to estimate how long they will last. That said, they seem to be lasting far longer than any others have in the past. Five basses are enough to get pretty much any variation in tone but the string is the beginning of the tone and better that all five produce that beginning pure tone with changes to be made further out on the signal path. The only other thing this reviewer might buy related to strings would be a T-shirt with the Thomastik logotype emblazoned on it, to wear proudly at gigs. Thanks, folks.
