Machined from quality aircraft aluminum to ensure light weight and high strength. Unique top load slot design allows for quick and easy stringing. You no longer have to feed your strings through the retainer and chance scratching your instrument's head stock or damaging your string windings. These retainers assure proper string tension for tone, sustain and playability. Their super light weight keeps your bass balanced!
This greatly simplifies the process of changing strings. I have always wrestled with the stock systems that require threading the strings through or under a retainer. This just makes more sense to me. The spacing for the strings and for the mounting holes lined up just fine with the existing arrangements on my mid-90s Jazz V. No hassle installation and (being a HipShot creating) it seems to be fine quality ...

Simple, well machined and really does the job! Put on a project bass.an early 70's Sears copy of a mustang. Set up as a picolo bass.put 2 sets of 2 string retainers on my homemade 5 string jazz fretless.they were the perfect
white water kayaker!

finishing touch.of course they were delivered in no time for free.love best bass gear!
Absolutely love this string tree. Replaced my std. Fender Jazz Bass's string tree with this 3-string retainer to get better tension on the A-string and have better break angle of the string. My E-A-D-G all have a nice break angle and the bass is far nicer playing after setting it back up. Easy install. No precision equipment or measuring necessary. Align mounting screw with A-String Tuner, other screw parallel with nut. Drill small pilot hole and install. Voila!

Very well made, I installed this string retainer on my '11 American Standard Precision with Thomastik Flats to fix an otherwise incurable buzz on the A string. Screwed it on; problem solved! If you can make a pilot hole and use a screwdriver, you can install this string retainer. Not a tough installation at all; just loosen your E-A-D strings 2-3 turns, set it on the strings, align it on the peghead and screw it down. One of the easiest problems I've ever solved on a bass.
