If you are looking for refined classic single coil JB™ tone in a fivestring format, our new JC5 AL (alnico single coil 5) will be your # 1 choice.
Like its fourstring brother, the JC4 AL, it has been developed to combine the best elements of vintage JB™ tone with modern performance specs. We took a lot of extra care to fully accommodate the 5th string into the tonal spectrum of the pickup without losing any of its sonic integrity. This pickup is ready to convince even hardcore vintage buffs who thought a fivestring pickup could never perform like the ones in their beloved early sixties bass. JC5 AL pickups are available in matched pairs or as single units.

Our fivestring high end twin coil humcanceller JB™ type pickup senses only the small area of the string a standard single coil would ‘see’,only a lot quieter.
The JC5 HEs incredibly full but tight bottom end and low mid warmth, velvet mids and sparkling top presence are the ingredients for world class bass tone, that responds flawlessly to every nuance of your playing. Well defined low-B string even on 34 inch scale basses and your E-string will be still have the integrity of a good fourstring bass. Great in passive, active or hybrid installations. DELANO JC5 HE pickups are available in matched pairs or as individual units.

DJC 5 HE - 5 String Twin Jazz Pickup - Twin Coil Jazz
The DJC 5 HE is a twin JB™ quad coil, double humcancelling fivestring pickup capable of covering a multitude of sounds all by different wiring options.
Basically, it is two JC5 HE pickups side by side. Sweet JB™ tones, classic rock and fat R&B, clean but mean grand piano style wire, to rootsy dub and reggae are only few of the sounds a pair of DJC5 HE pickups will put under your command. Also great with JC5 HE in neck position. Tight and focused low-B and E strings and fantastic string-to-string balance and response. Recommended for passive, active and hybrid installations.

MC 5 HY - The Hybrid
An uncompromising pickup series that combines in one single construction the two most legendary sounds in bass history!
Part 1: J-Bass™ – Single coil bridge pickup with the immortal characteristics of early 60’s pickups. AlNiCo 5 magnets, classic fiber bobbin and gauge 42 wire.
Part 2: Sting Ray™ Humbucker – Low resistance neck coil with 9.5 millimeter AlNiCo 5 magnets. Authentic sound guaranteed in this setting too, thanks to the special engineered bridge J-coil: the second MM™-coil is inte-grated inside. Switching concept: The integrated switch management lets you get both of these great classic sounds at the touch of a toggle, each one reconstructed exactly in its original form with all its strengths and nuances of character.

The integrated switch manager lets you get both of these great classic sounds at the touch of a toggle, each one reconstructed exactly in its original form with all its strengths and nuances of character: Passive function in single-coil mode, active function with the DELANO SONAR 2- or 3-band EQ activated in Humbucker mode. The internal switching of the pickup is lightning fast, too! For maximum sound authenticity we recommend the custom neck version of our J™-single coil JC4AL/H or JC5AL/H for the neck position. With both pickups switched on, this JJ-arrangement typically produces a noise-free output.
No trouble with treble:
The ’Hybrid’ set includes a specially designed treble pot that works as a typical passive tone control for the J™-sounds in the passive mode and doubles as the active treble EQ in the Sting Ray™ setting. The neutral setting is located conveniently in the middle position; when switching, it’s easy to get the basic settings you need.
Additional features:
In the humbucking mode – we call it ’Ray’ mode – you’re able to combine the hybrid pickup with the neck pickup, too. This is an additional feature. But take note, that use of the neckside single coil pickup typically causes hum, if driven with the active electronis. To achive an authentic ’Ray’ sound, you should turn the balance knob fully backwards – and so your bass is hum-free.

SBC5 HE/S - Dual Coil Humbucker
Its precision engineered dual coil design combines tight fat bottom and vocal like midrange articulation with sparkling wide open top end detail. Incredibly rich unmasked harmonics. Very direct sounding but never harsh or brittle. Great pickup for world class fretless tone. Huge fivestring muscle with seamless low-B string integration. Best of both worlds, classy highend tone with vintage warmth. Performs equally well in pure passive mode or combined with onboard active electronics. They are available as single units or in perfectly matched pairs.
