DELANO MC series humbucking pickups are fashioned in the popular MM Stingray™ double coil pickup shape They feature a very wide string sensing area and come in many special versions to offer the widest possible range of tonal colors for todays demanding bass players.

Two rows of strong 9.5 mm diameter alnico 5 magnets and two custom coils produce a fat and grinding bass humbucking tone that also sounds great in single coil or parallel modes. Very warm bass and low mid response, accentuated mids and bright percussive top end make the MC4 AL a great choice for one pickup instruments where versatility is the key factor.

Its full range moderate output design interacts great with onboard active electronic circuits and it still has enough punch and clarity when used in full passive operation.

Please check the physical size of the pickups you want to replace to make sure the replacements fit properly.

Easy upgrade for my 1992 MM5
By Fwave5
This is my second time replacing the PU on my MusicMan 5 string. The last one was a Norstrand 5.3, which served 4 years.
I have to say the Delano is closer to the original MM5 PU sound that I wanted, and has the tonality I prefer.

Excellent replacement pickup
By Sam Fiorenza
I wasn't disappointed in the tone of the stock MM style pickup that came with my bass guitar (a Sterling by MusicMan SUB Ray 4), but based on the suggestions for upgrading earlier this year, I decided to upgrade to this Delano MM style pickup. It has not disappointed at all. This pickup really has a great, even tone; it sounds like a Music Man pickup, but with the active preamp, I can dial in lots of other tones, too. I didn't split the coils (but this can be done with the pup), but I like the humbucking qualities that I'm getting. This pickup has power, and cuts through in live performance well. I am glad that I followed BBG's recommendation. I have a SUB Ray 5, and I may upgrade to the 5-string version of this Delano pickup for that bass as well. I highly recommend this upgrade . . . It is a solid pickup.

Delano MM Alnico is killer
By Dave
It is not easy to improve over Nordstrand or Aguilar MM pickups that I used in my Stingrays and Corvette $$. Still, although nicely voiced to ressemble vintage PUs, both missed articulation on the deepest notes and suddenly someone turned my sight to Delano, not much known in the US pickup winder. Wow. This is sound I've been looking after. Specially with Warwick Corvette, this adds dimension to already high standard sound of $$. Love smooth highs of Delano PUs, no aggression, but no lack of distinctive tone.
IMO the best MM for modern sound, FE version is closer to vintage, so mixing them in $$ might be a key.
Way better than BassLines that I didn't like at all and total muct for replacing lousy MEC pickups in Warwicks.
Bass sings now.
