“Classic Bass” CB series bass pickups feature an extended and more resonant frequency range. They have far more “air” and definition at the top without sacrificing lows and low mids. They are cast in epoxy to remove unwanted feedback and microphonics.

The two pickups in the P-Bass pair overlap each other by 3/4" (19mm).

CNC machined blades on all of the 4 string bass pickups allow them to cover string widths from 50mm to 59mm on medium curvature fingerboards with excellent string balance.

Please check the physical size of the pickups you want to replace to make sure the replacements fit properly.

Precision – 8CBP,58CBP “4 & 5 String” size

9 Jazz L – 9CBJD-L1, 59CBJD-L1 “ 4 & 5 String ” size

Please Note:Bartolini does not supply screws with their pickups. If you require pickup screws, we carry them on our pickup screws page.

Love Em

I love the sound. I can finally get that growl I've always wanted from my fretless Fender Jazz Bass Special. I love the way they look. I love the name and the sound it makes as it rolls off your tongue. An unexpected delight is the rounded edges, a lot easier on your fingers and/or pick if you really dig in when you play. The original pickups I replaced had very sharp edges that would chew up your fingers and break picks. As far as the Bartolini's go,did I mention I love em?

Used these in conjunction with a Noll preamp. I had outstanding results on a 32" scale warmoth build (mahogany with maple cap, wenge neck). Super warm and fat tone that can cover vintage through modern sounds. The P pickup really shines. The balance control tends to stay pretty far towards the p-pickup....just a hint of the J to really balance the sound. My instructors have told me this is one of the best sounding basses they've played. Bart classics never disappoint. I've been through many pickups over time (emg's, SD's, Dimarzios, MEC, Joe Barden's, Fralin's, Delano's, etc) but Bart classics are always on point for my sound.
