DESCRIPTION

DiMarzio Model J®s keep the crunchy, focused sound of the traditional Fender Jazz Bass tone while boosting gain and response. This additional presence translates into a bigger sound with improved attack and bite; great for highly articulated finger or pick-style playing where quick response is needed. The DiMarzio Model J® pickup's sensitivity and deep tone are also the perfect complement to the warm character of fretless basses. Double-stop glissandos and delicate violin-style vibrato speak with a classic, woody voice simply by backing off slightly on the tone controls.

Would sound great if it still worked
By Steve

This pickup sounded a lot better than the one I replaced--deeper bass tone than the standard J-Bass sound, and "liver" presence. Unfortunately, the one I ordered stopped working a couple days after I installed it. The sound on the two high strings was either weak or nonexistent. DiMarzio's tech support said it sounded like a damaged lead, and I should return it.

Measure Your Pickups!
By Ryan

Good pickups. Hum free. Slighty better sounding than mexican standard pickups. Make sure to measure your stock pickups. My MIM Fender Jazz had the same size pickups which was changed in more recent models. I ordered the short versions separately which costs a little more but it was worth it for the hum cancelation alone.
