The OBP-2 was designed to give bassists fat tone while being small enought fit into tight control cavities. Wire this preamp with one 9 volt battery and it will fit into just about any instrument. With +/-18dB of bass boost and cut at 40Hz and +/- 16dB of treble boost and cut at 6.5 kHz you have can emphasize just the right frequencies to make your bass sound great in any mix.

The Aguilar OBP-2 is compatible with most major manufacturer’s pickups, and its small size makes it an easy retrofit in almost any bass. Combining high headroom and low noise, the OBP-2 is unmatched in providing tonal flexibility while retaining the true character of any bass!

No modification is required for use with Active pickups such as EMG®, Warwick® MEC and other active pickups as we build the pre-wires in house and impedance match the controls for the pickups chosen whether active or passive.

Tonally these preamps are aggressive, clear, transparent and have emphasis with the low and low midrange being warm, and with the top end 'presence' like. These preamps do not have gain control onboard.

Use of 9v or 18v power is possible as we build the prewires in house to suit your power requirements. 18v grants an additional 6dB of headroom.

Dimension passive upgrade
By Robert E. Brown
This pre-amp worked for a Fender Dimension two pickup "passive". I was able to tuck the module and battery just ahead of the first volume knob. The volume knob sits a little over the end of the battery but that helps keep all in place. On these Dimension bases the pickguard can be easily removed without removing the strings so battery replacement is not too bad. Results? Awesome. I had dug the passive sound of this bass but did not mix well with the band so took a shot on a pre-amp. I like this Aguilar pre-amp better than the Fender factory unit found in many of these Dimension basses. Even at 9V the output is twice my MusicMan Stingray and had me checking the Stingray battery voltage just to be sure. So happy I bought a OBP-3 for another bass so look for my review of that under OBP-3. Usual great service and contact from BBG.
