Great item
By Dave M
I usually leave the straps attached to the guitars/basses via those plastic cam locks from Dunlop.
Once in a while you can lose one though and you need to keep a couple spares.

I have these Diago buttons on a couple of basses now and I love them. They are very secure, easy to use, look good. No mating parts, etc. Now, I put these basses in the case with the strap off. I will cycle through all of my guitars with these replacements.

Practical & elegant solution
By Jim
Great product! I was looking for an alternative to a locking strap system. Locking systems solve the issue of straps coming off too easy but tend to create other issues. These strap buttons really did the job without having to mess with extra gizmos on my strap needing attention. Strap is secure and can use whatever strap I want. I'm happy with these and will probably get more for other basses.

Great alternative to the typical strap locks
By Michael
I needed a better alternative to the usual strap locks for my Gibson ES-339, which has the strap button on the back of the guitar. I was concerned that the typical strap lock would protrude and be an annoyance, plus I wanted to be able to use different straps without being "married" to a particular strap lock system. I was a little skeptical of these Diago buttons, but they turned out to be perfect for my needs. The first couple of times putting on/taking off each strap was a little tough, but once I got the hang of it it's a snap, and they keep the strap nice and secure. Granted, I'm not throwing my guitar around on stage (I play with a band at church), but for all but the most extreme "guitar gymnastics" I think these would remain very secure. I have not had an issue with these buttons rotating- the opening has remained in the down position even when putting on my thickest strap (I'm using Levy, Italia and Franklin straps).

I tried the rubber washer "lock" idea, but they don't work with anything but a thin strap (either won't go on or they pop off with the slightest tug, at least on my ES-339).

If you're looking for a simple alternative to the usual strap lock, I can highly recommend these Diago Twistlocks!

Safe and simple
By Dave Miller
Easy to install, simple to use, absolutely foolproof, absolutely works.

Early in the 80s I tried the two popular 2-piece strap lock designs and had almost dropped my Les Paul and P bass. These types don't remain properly installed in the strap hole and the locking mechanisms can become worn and fail.........so they'ere ultimately unreliable.

I have used the plastic twist locks for 30 years leaving the straps permanently on the basses. A recent case purchase forced me to find an alternative so that the strap could be removed and reinstalled easily as to allow the bass to fit into the new case.

These Diago strap buttons really fit the application. Secure and confident, Look Ma NO HANDS.
