Controls: Volume Push/Pull Active Passive - Blend - Treble - Bass - Mid

The Glockenklang 3-band onboard preamp is active/passive switchable (at the Volume via a Push/Pull), has a balance(blend) pot with no volume dip in center-position, and can safely run on 18v for power

On this particular model the treble pot acts as tone roll-off in passive mode.

Due to the high performance electronics, in flat center position of the EQ you hear no difference from active and passive mode. The preamp is extremely transparent. All Glockenklang preamps come pre-wired with high flexible cables. Pot shafts on single solid shafts is 6mm

This preamp is capable of being run at either 9v or 18v.

Technical Specifications

  • Treble: +/- 18 dB@18 KHz
  • Bass: +/- 14 dB@40 Hz
  • Mid: +/- 9 dB@550 Hz

My favorite preamp
By Rory
I love this preamp. I mostly run it in passive mode, making great use of the passive tone control feature. Then when i want a mid boost for a solo, i just activate the preamp, and bam, i cut right through the mix. Its very handy and very transparent. I have one in both of my basses.

Loving it!

Bought an ESP LTD Multiscale Bass for the extended scale length. Never had a bass with active pickups before and never really found the need as I fine tuned my sound at the amp. The LTD had active pickups that gave me extra sizzle in the highs that I liked but after 6 months started making noise so I went passive for several months. Read the reviews and decided to give this preamp a try. The wiring was rather "straight forward" with minor input jack cavity adjustment. Played a theater double-header this past weekend and couldn't have been more pleased. I started with my amp EQ completely flat and never touched it again. The variety of tone possibilities was huge (and quiet). I can't wait to experiment at other venues and genres.
